Once upon a time I loved to cook…now I just cannot be bothered!

Moroccan-style Nut and Vegetable Pie

You ask…Can I cook? Of course I can cook…but do I enjoy cooking? Then the answer is NO.

Many years ago I did enjoy cooking ..I have done small banquets and really scrumptious meals.I have catered for children parties and made a good job of it….so YES I can cook but I do not want to cook.

My cooking buzz has long since disappeared. IO hear my friends talking of pie making, cakes, and bottling various fruits…but for me I would rather trapse around the supermarket and if I cannot find what I want ..I will go without.

Maybe I have got lazy in my old age…my principle now is ' eat to live' and live with what I jhave. I just cannot be bothered to indulge in kitchen antics.

Tall person says it is a pity that you have lost the desire for home cooking. He still remembers his grandmother’s fruit pies, cakes, homemade jams, “bubble and squeek” and “dripping” spread on bread! Re-discover your taste buds with some old school delights! :)

  2. I really dislike cooking. I want to open a package and eat! I seem to be nothing like my grandmother.

Sometimes we still have bubble and squeak which is lovely and tasty and as for bread and dripping..wow! that is to die for! Trouble is that nowadays there is not enough fat on the animals but I do get a bit of that when we have roast chicken.

I don’t mind cooking too much…as long as someone else cleans up afterwards.
However, I am far from a cookie baking Granny!
